The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the immersion education through ICT(Information & Communication Technology) on students' acquisition of English competence and their changes of affective domains including confidence and interest in learning English. The subjects were thirty-four sixth grade students in a low income area in Gyeonggi-do. English tests for speaking and listening and questionnaires were employed for data, and the results were analysed by average scores, standard derivations, and t-tests. Teaching journals and learning logs were also employed for qualitative data to identify the details for the process of immersion education. Results revealed that English immersion in ICT classes increased students' English competence and confidence. It was also found that attitudes of students and their parents towards English learning and immersion education changed more positively than before its introduction. Based on the results some suggestions are made for the introduction of immersion education in public elementary schools in the future.
