불교가 전파된 지역은 시대를 막론하고 그 사회를 치유하고 새롭게 출발할 수 있는 정신적 가치를 제공하였다. 공(空)사상은 욕망에서 비롯되는 집착에서 해방시켜주고, 더불어 사는 지혜임을 알게 하는 교리이다. 선(禪)은 불교의 공사상을 현실적으로 실천하는 행위와 그 과정에 목적을 두고 있다. 선종(禪宗)은 문자나 구두적 이해보다 실천성을 전제로 성립된 종파이다. 따라서 어록에 의해 선사들이 남기고 간 흔적들을 살펴볼 수 있다.경덕전등록(1006)은 선사들의 행적과 어록인 공안들을 담아 놓은 문헌이다. 당시까지 살았던 선사들의 어록이 후대의 선수행자들에게 수행의 길잡이가 될 수 있도록 한 책이다. 또한 선종 문헌의 중심이 되는 책이다. 전등록을 기본으로 하여 다른 선종 문헌들이 발간되기도 하였다. 생태학적 관점은 개발이냐 보전이냐에 대한 지혜로운 판단을 요구한다. 전등록에 나타난 선사들의 말씀에는 긍정과 부정을 넘어서는 최고의 지혜가 담겨있다. 따라서 생태학적 담론이 증가함에 따라 불교 혹은 선(禪)적 사유 방식이 해결의 실마리가 될 수 있다.전등록에 수록된 선사들의 공안에는 불교의 세계관인 법계관(法界觀)이 그대로 투영되어 있다. 그러한 세계관의 내용에는 우주의 생성, 허공과 대지, 동식물, 그리고 다양한 물질들에 대한 불교적 관점들이 망라되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 전등록의 텍스트 전체를 중심으로 생태학적 용어들을 살펴보았다. 검색된 용어들을 불교의 세계관으로 분류하고, 선사들의 생태관을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 선과 생태학의 학제적 연구의 토대가 될 수 있음을 밝히고자 한다.

It was a guidance from the Buddhist priests who live in the period to next generation ascetics and core literature of Seon. Based on Jingde, other literature of Seon were published. ZhuanDengLu has to fulfill the trend of present which requires biological view point in each field. A naught can be the common factor that brings the biology and the idea of Seon close together. A naught makes you to act with wisdom through positiveness and negativeness regarding all subjects. Biological point of view also requires wise decision regarding questions on development or preservation. Words on ZhuanDengLu gives the best wisdom beyond positiveness and negativeness. Thus, Buddhism or way of thinking in Seon can be a clue to biological arguments. Catechetical question for meditation on ZhuanDengLu reflects world of Buddhism, Dharmadhtu(法界).
