To gain competitiveness in warehouses, the implementation stage of supply chain management is important as global business practices are changing. Since the internal module of ERP suite adopted by many companies has its limitations for providing various warehouse functions, Warehouse Management Systems(WMS) have begun to be installed by the industry’s top-notch companies to apply their best business processes and procedures. Against this backdrop, this study aims to identify CSFs for WMS implementation from a case study of a multinational company’s WMS implementation in its regional sites by using mixed method. Specifically, initial in-depth interviews were conducted with four WMS experts who have extensive experience in WMS implementation extracting critical factors out of the 25 factors found in literature reviews. In the in-depth interviews, eleven out of twenty-five CSFs were considered very critical. The criticality of the 11 CSFs was questioned in a survey, and the result was analyzed to find the minimum number of factors that can explain the maximum variance. The factor analysis was performed using SPSS with Varimax rotation as the principal method. From the results, 4 perspectives were determined: 1) Change management; 2) Project Execution; 3) Organizational Culture; 4) Knowledge and Technical. The results of this study will be useful for business leaders to determine what actions they may need to take for their WMS implementation.
급변하는 글로벌 비즈니스 환경에 따라 많은 기업들이 과거보다 공급망 관리(Supply Chain) 의 중요성을 인식하고 있으며 공급사슬의 수행단계인 창고의 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해 노력하고 있다. 많은 기업들이 도입한 전사적 자원관리 시스템(ERP)의 내부모듈인 창고관리시스템은 기본적인 기능만을 제공하므로 다양하고 특수한물류서비스를 제공하기에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 물류전문기업이나 글로벌 기업의 대형 지역 물류센터에서는동종 최고의 창고관리시스템을 도입하여 특화된 물류서비스를 효과적으로 제공하는 추세이다. 이에, 본 연구는창고시스템을 설치할 때 중점적으로 관리해야 할 핵심성공요인이 무엇인지 한 다국적 기업 A의 창고관리시스템 도입사례를 통하여 고찰하고자 하였으며 요인분석을 통하여 핵심성공요인을 도출하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 다른 소프트웨어나 전사적 자원관리에 관한 문헌연구를 바탕으로 창고관리시스템 도입 시 필요한 핵심요인을 파악하여 25개의 핵심요인을 파악하였다. 그리고 다국적기업 A의 창고관리시스템 설치에 참여한 전문가들과의 인터뷰를 통하여 창고관리시스템의 도입 시 간과해서는 안 되는 핵심요인 11개를 도출하였다. 도출된 11개의 핵심요인을 바탕으로 A사의 창고관리시스템 도입 시 참여한 직원들을 대상으로 중요도를 검증하였으며 요인분석을 통해 4개의 요인 (변화관리 관점, 프로젝트 수행관점, 조직문화관점, 지식과 기술 관점)을 도출하였다. 본 연구에 의해 분석된 핵심요인들은 창고관리시스템을 실행하는 기업에게 발생할 수 있는 시행착오를미연에 방지하고, 보다 효과적으로 수행할 수 있는 방안으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
