본 연구는 비행청소년들을 위한 토론연극 프로그램을 개발 · 적용하여, 그 효과성을 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 아울러 비행청소년의 우울과 자기상에 관련된 문제를 돕기 위하여 구체적인 토론연극 프로그램 지원 및 보급에 실제적인 자료를 제공하고자 했다. 연구대상은 2006년 문화관광부의 사회문화예술교육 정책 사업의 일환으로 소년원학교 문화예술교육 프로그램이 시범 운영된 부산과 경기도의 소년원학교 비행청소년 56명(실험집단 30명, 통제집단 26명)이다. 연구방법은 토론연극 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하기 위하여 양적연구와 질적연구를 함께 수행하는 통합접근연구를 실시하였다. 양적연구에서는 이질통제집단 사전-사후 설계로 실험결과 수집된 자료는 t-검증, MANOVA, 그리고 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 질적 연구에서는 토론연극 프로그램 과정상의 변화된 모습을 다각적으로 이해하기 위하여 학생, 학교 담당교사, 프로그램 강사를 대상으로 참여관찰과 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 토론연극 프로그램이 비행청소년의 우울성 감소와 긍정적인 자기상을 높이는데 효과를 가져왔으며, 토론연극 프로그램의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 비행청소년의 배경변인 특성으로는 성별, 재범빈도, 입소기간이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 토론연극 프로그램은 비행청소년의 우울성 감소와 긍정적인 자기상 형성에 효과적인 것으로 밝혀졌다.


This study was designed to examine the effects of the effect of Forum Theatre Program on the Depression and Self-Image of Delinquency Adolescents. The subjects of the study included 56 delinquency adolescents who were admitted in the Juvenile Training School for a criminal behavior. They were classified into two separate group on a random basis; 30 adolescents in the experimental group and 26 adolescents in the control group. The analysis of this study consists of two parts; first, the statistical analysis of Depression Scale and Self-Image Questionnaire. Statistical methods used for data analysis were t-test, MANOVA((Multivariate Analysis of Variance) and Multiple Regression Analysis. Second, the qualitative interview with delinquency adolescents, the school teachers, and program teachers. The result of this study was as follows. First, the depression score of the experimental group students having received the Forum Theatre Program was lower than the control group. Second, the Self-Image score of the experimental group students that received the Forum Theatre Program was higher than the control group. Third, the determining factors on the satisfaction of Forum Theatre Program were gender, frequency of a second conviction and the period of imprisonment. In conclusion, the Forum Theatre Program made for delinquency adolescents had a positive impact on the adjustment of depression and on the increase of Self-image.
