이 연구에서는 2012년 한국에서 주5일 수업제 전면 도입 이후 더욱 중요하게 대두되고 있는 청소년 주말활동 활성화 방안에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 문헌고찰 방법을 통하여 영국의 청소년 주말활동의 구성과 내용을 분석하고 한국의 주말 청소년활동 활성화 방안을 제언하였다. 연구내용으로는 첫째, 영국의 주말 청소년활동 정책과 프로그램을 포괄하는 상위의 청소년정책과 정책 수립 배경에 대한 논의와, 둘째, 주말 청소년활동의 유형, 셋째, 주말 청소년활동 지원 정책으로 구성하였다. 결론적으로 이 연구를 통해 연구자는 한국에서의 추말 청소년활동 활성화 방안으로 첫째, 청소년활동을 통한 청소년문제의 해결과 예방, 사회통합의 한 방안으로서의 청소년 주말활동 활성화, 청소년의 적극적인 주말활동 참여를 위한 다각적 지원과 협력의 필요성, 청소년활동에의 새로운 패러다임으로의 전환을 제언하였다.
This study aimed to discuss on how to promote youth activities during the weekends as Korean formal education started five-school-day system since 2012. Document analysis was adopted as a research method. The research content are; the youth policies and background in the UK, the types of youth activities in the weekends, supportive policies for youth weekend activities. As a conclusion, firstly this study suggests that youth weekend activities can play an important role in prevention of youth juvenile. Secondly, youth activities including weekend activities can contribute for social integration. Thirdly, youth activities needs partnership and supports from various organisation. Finally, there should be a new paradigm for youth activities and youth policies.
