본 연구는 증가하는 북한이탈 사회복지학전공 대학생의 대학생활 경험에 대한 내면적이며 주관적 의미를 탐색한 질적 연구이다. 본 연구의 참여자 8명을 통해 얻은 심층면접 자료를 Colaizzi의 현상학적 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 참여자들의 대학생활경험 본질은 ‘꿈을 향해 거침없이 도전하기’이며 6개의 범주와 20개의 주제모음으로 조직화되었다. 6개 범주는 ‘새로운 세계를 향하여’, ‘사회복지학 대학생이 된 의미’, ‘낯섦과 혼돈 사이’, ‘대학생으로서의 인간관계’, ‘부단한 노력으로 이루는 삶’, 그리고 ‘희망이 잉태됨’으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 북한이탈 사회복지학 대학생이 예비 사회복지사로 준비되는데 필요한 대학 생활을 이해하고 이들을 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 기초자료가 될 것이다. 또한 이들을 향한 지원은 빠르게 다문화 사회로 진입하고 있는 한국사회의 귀중한 잠재적 자원에 대한 배려로 의미와 가치를 부여할 수 있을 것이다.
This study has been conducted using a qualitative research method, and it is to explore their internal and subjective meanings regarding the campus life experiences for North Korean defectors among undergraduate social work students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews from 8 participants. In addition, the data were analyzed by Colaizzi's method of phenomenological analysis. As a result of data analysis, data has derived 20 theme clusters and lastly 6 categories, and identified 'challenge without hesitation toward the dream' as the essence of the life experiences of the participants. The 6 categories consisted of 'toward a new life', 'the meaning of becoming a social work student' 'between the strangeness and the confusion', 'the relationship as a university student', 'achieving a better life through hard working', and 'desire has conceived'. The results of the study will lead us a better understanding about how North Korean defectors among undergraduate social work students prepare to be social workers and be basic resources that how we support the students effectively. Also, the support for them who can be valuable potential people of Korean society that rapidly becomes more multicultural can give meanings and values to us.
