이 연구의 목적은 대학생의 사회비교동기와 자기주도적 학습이 자기효능감(학업적효능감, 자기조절효능감)에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 있다. 연구대상은 광주·전남의 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 261명(남 92명, 여 169명)이며, SPSS/WIN 통계 프로그램을 활용하여 기술통계 및 t-test, 상관분석, 단계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회비교동기는 남녀 간 유의한 차이가 없었으나 자기주도적 학습과 자기효능감은 남자가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 사회비교동기는 자기효능감과 부적인 상관을 보였고, 자기주도적 학습이 높으면 자기효능감이 높은 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 대학생의 학업적효능감에는 초인지, 성취지향성 순으로, 자기조절효능감에는 초인지, 자기고양동기 순으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에서는 대학생의 자기효능감에 사회비교동기, 자기주도적 학습의 하위변인의 영향력을 입증하였다. 따라서 이 연구결과는 대학생의 자기효능감을 증진시킬 수 있는 실천적 방법의 필요성과 더불어 대학생 스스로의 사고와 성찰의 중요성을 제기함으로써 보다 효율적인 대학생활을 지원할 수 있는 함의를 제공하고 있다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of colleges students' social relative motivation and self-directed learning on their self-efficacy - academic self-efficacy and self-regulatory efficacy -. To this end, it studied 261 college students -92 male students and 169 female students - in Chonnam Province including Gwangju Metropolitan City, and conducted descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN programme. The study found that there was insignificant difference between male and female students in terms of social relative motivation but male students showed higher self-directed learning and self-efficacy than female students. In addition, there was negative correlation between social comparison motivation and self-efficacy, and self-directed learning had high correlation with self-efficacy. Furthermore, college students' academic efficacy was affected primarily by meta-cognition followed by accomplishment-oriented attitude, and their self-regulatory efficacy was influenced mostly by meta-cognition followed by self-achievement motivation. The results suggest that the voluntary thinking and reflection of college students are related to their academic ability and have influence on their self-efficacy. Thus, in order to help improve the self-efficacy of college students, it is necessary to support their college life by examining variables that affect their self-efficacy.
