본 연구는 전통미술의 한국화 한지민예품 교육을 살펴보고, 2009 개정 초등 3-4학년 7종 미술 교과서 분석을 근거로 하여 미술과 수업에서 한국화 한지민예품 지도의의미와 방법을 드러내는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 오랫동안 미술교육 현장은 서구적 미의식이 우위를 차지하고 치우쳐왔기에 전통미술은 고루하고 어렵다는 인식이 생겼다. 이에 전통미술 수업의 의미와 가치를 회복하고, 학생들은 삶 속에서 전통미술문화와소통할 필요가 있다. 전통미술 중에서도 학생들이 친근하게 접근할 수 있는 한국화 한지민예품 교육을 탐구한 바, 미술과 수업에서 한국화 한지민예품 지도의 의미를 발견하였는데 첫째, 한지민예품을 활용한 한국화 영역의 통합 학습으로 학생들은 몰아의상태에서 완전한 놀이 상태에 빠지게 되고, 정신의 유연한 상태로 창조적 노력을 감행함으로서 놀이로서의 미적 체험을 한다. 둘째, 학생들은 전통과 현재, 미래와의 소통이 왜 필요한지, 그 가치를 알게 된다. 미술활동을 통해 전통의 내면적 정신문화 유산과의 소통으로 자신의 현재적 의미를 알고, 현대에 맞는 새로운 전통을 창조해야하는이유를 깨닫는 것이다. 셋째, 전통미술의 예술정신, 조상들의 삶의 방식과 행위들을학생들이 체험하고 들여다보면서 인성을 기르기 위한 잃어버린 마음을 회복하고 형성한다. 이러한 한국화 한지민예품 미술과 수업은 2009 개정 미술과 교육과정이 지향하는 소통과 창의, 인성교육 뿐만 아니라 학생들이 전통미술을 보다 재미있고 다양한 방법으로 이해하고 체험하게 한다는 것이다.
The purposes of this study are twofold: to examine Korean paintings and paper folk art articles, and to reveal the meanings and methods behind Korean paintings and paper folk art articles as outlined in the 2009 revised elementary third and fourth grade art textbooks, of which there are seven. For the longest time, art education in Korea has been dominated by the Western aesthetic. Thus, it gives the impression that traditional Korean art is “out-dated” and difficult. Therefore, the meanings and values of traditional Korean art must be regained. Students need communications to the legacy inherent in traditional Korean art. By analyzing traditional Korean paintings and paper folk art articles found in the 2009 revised art textbooks, this study has determined the following meanings. Firstly, students can become better artists by including the study of traditional Korean paintings and paper folk art articles in their education. Students with a flexible state of mind can find rewarding aesthetic experiences as if they are immersed in play by studying traditional Korean paintings and paper folk art articles. Secondly, students realize the necessities and values of communications with the tradition, the present and the future. In other words, students find their current state of meanings through the art activities which provides communications to the traditional inner spirit of heritage, and this enable them to create a new tradition to suit for modern time. Lastly, students form their minds in order to shape characters by experiencing the art spirit of the traditional art and their ancestors’ way of life. These Korean painting and paper folk art article classes not only provide a communication, a creativity and a character education that 2009 revised art curriculum aims for, but also enable students to experience traditional art more fun and variety of ways.
