The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of decision support system(DSS) for policy-makers of lifelong vocational education(LVE) and to propose a technical solutions for such a information system. This study showed that policy decision-making in the field of LVE do need reliable and efficient DSS. However, the concept of LVE comprises wide variety of data sources that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to construct DSS.This study summarized the environmental characteristics of DSS for LVE as follows: first, the location of and the need for data are quite varied. Second, decision-makers and other users of DSS should have high-quality information from various sources and time-dependent data. Based on this assumption and to provide high quality DSS environments, Data Warehouse techniques are proposed as solutions to forestated problems.Data Warehouse is based on the concept of Multi-dimensional Database Management System(MDBMS)and connected with OLAP(On-line Analytical Processing) and statistical data processing technique(Data-mining), can provide subject-oriented, and user-oriented integrated DSS platform. To accomodate policy-makers and other users in the field of LVE, Data Warehousing is proposed as a viable solutions for a more reliable and effective information support system specifications.This study also examined a selected techniques utilizing the Data Warehouse such as decision tree and artificial neural network. Also, analysis of Data Warehouse development process is provided.As a conclusion, this study showed that the quality of decision making in the field of LVE could be enhanced with proper design and operations of DSS with a number of recommendations such as systematic administrative support for DSS project, personnel support for DSS operations, and users' understanding and commitment toward DSS.
