In a highly competitive world, where one must establish his competitive advantage over the other, progress in education can be no swifter than progress in technology, so greater demands of highly technology-competent graduates have been on the rise to complement today’s high-tech environment. This study looks at how the 22 Metro Manila’s Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Accredited Hospitality schools are addressing the information technology needs of the hospitality students and the steps they are taking to update their curricula. It explores the state of Information Technology in academe in the area of hotel and restaurant management. Although schools are taking in consideration the minimum requirements of the CHED of the Philippine government, the findings of this study suggest an immediate need in implementation of updated core competencies of hospitality programs in the Metro Manila. This study presents some obstacles that needed to be realized in the present state of IT in Metro Manila schools. Further studies on IT requirements of Hotels in the Philippines are recommended to supplement the limitations of this research.
