The main purposes of this study are (1)to find out which factors are more important or contributable to the overall satisfaction level of theme park visitors when a special event is held and when special events is not held, and (2)to investigate the effects of special events to the overall satisfaction level of theme park visitors. To satisfy the purpose of this study, two sets of data were collected at Daejon Expo Science park in 2002. One set of data (119 responses) surveyed theme park visitors when there was no special event. The other set of data (157 responses) surveyed theme park visitors when a special event was held in the theme park. Two sets of data were analyzed and compared by running t-test, factor, and multiple regression analyses. The statistical tests indicate that whether a special events was held or not, the satisfaction of visitors was statistically influenced by the contributing five factors which were figured by factor analysis. However, the contributing power of two factors (technical service quality and availability) was different in terms of the satisfaction level of visitors according to when a special event was held and was not held. It means that technical service quality was more contributable to the satisfaction level of visitors when a special event was held than when a special events was not held. In case of availability such as crowdedness, long waiting, slow movement, and the problem of information center, was negatively associated with the satisfaction level of theme park visitors.
