The purpose of this study is to evaluate the newly constructed convention center using importance-performance analysis. A field survey was conducted at the Daejeon Convention Center(DCC). The result of the study can be summarized as follows: First, participants who used the DCC perceived high importance and high performance in the attributes of communications, air conditioner, employee response, special facilities such as medical room, and parking service. It has been requested that the DCC keep up the convention service attributes. Secondly, participants perceived high importance and low performance in the attributes of transportation, easy access, and number of halls. It has been requested that the DCC concentrate on the attributes. Thirdly, participants perceived low importance and low performance in attributes of restaurant, bank & drugstore, catering service, and freight traffic. It has been requested that the DCC lower priority of the attributes. Finally, participants perceived low importance and high performance in the attributes of supporting facilities, rental and service charges, and safety of security measures. It has been requested that the DCC reduce overkill of these attributes. The DCC is a newly constructed convention center, therefore it is suggested that convention centers which will be constructed in the future draw a lesson from the DCC’s service.
