The purpose of study is to explore equal or unequal opportunities of leisure and recreation activities across socioeconomic factors, including gender, age, ethnicity, and household income. One hundred eighteen visitors at a park district in the Midwestern area of the United States were invited to participate in this study. Findings from this study indicated that there existed differences of leisure and recreation perception and satisfaction across gender, household income and four different ethnic groups. There was also a significant relationship between visitors' perceptions and satisfaction of leisure and recreation activities. Future study needs to identify community desires to determine what type of activities local community residents would like to have and what participation constraints the residents face based on different locations and ages.
