Surveying 429 students in four year tourism-related majors across the nation, this study examined what career factors they considered in choosing their jobs and how much the tourism industry provided them with those factors. Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) results showed what students perceived as important and how well the tourism industry performed to meet their expectations. The enclosed study finds, for example, students answered that four factors which were important to them in choosing jobs were an opportunity to move up, high income, job security and balance between family and workplace but actually tourism industry provided them with those factors poorly. The study concludes with the implications of the findings and the limitations of the study and future research ideas.
