The purpose of this study is to identify and examine the effeccts of residents' perceptions on benefits, community attachment and development support towards a mega event, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. In order to carry out empirical study, 257 survey questionnaries were collected in Pyeongchang from 4th to 6th Nob. 2011. The result of this study was as followed : First, it was found that the majority of respondents very positively perceived the development impacts of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Second, residents' perceptions on mega events effects had an positive and negative effects - economic factors, social-cultural factors and environmental factors. Third, residents' benefits was influence by positive economic and environmental impacts, community attachment by positive economic and negative social-cultural impacts and development support by positive economic and environmental impacts, negative social-cultural and economic impacts. Also development support was influence by benefits and community attachment. Implications arising from this research are considered for future researchers and organizers of mega events. After Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang is finished, more research of the residents' perceptions have to be continued.
