Personalty traits have been suggested to be a better predictor of information behavior, yet neglected empirical research. This study examined the influence of personality traits on travelers' information search mode. In order to empirically verify hypothesized relationships, a survey of tourists to Busan(n=360) was conducted in August, 2010. Big Five Factors, among other personality dimensions, were used to represent respondents' personality traits. Study results indicate that openness to experience and extraversion trait, among BFF personalty traits, have a significant influence on individuals' mode of searching for information prior to their trip. Tourists with high openness to experience and extraversion trait are more likely to search travel information even without an immediate trip plan. It is suggested that information stimulating travel information suffers' openness and extraversion traits needs to be provided through pop-up and front page platform in order to catch their attention.
