본 연구는 민간 보육시설에 근무하는 교사들의 물리적 신변안전 환경 관련 실태 및 개선책을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 민간보육시설 교사 130명에게 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 실제 위협을 경험한 8명을 대상으로 한 사례를 분석해 보았다. 그 결과, 현재 대부분의 보육시설이 신변안전을 보호할 수 있는 시설과 보호 장치는 미흡한 실정으로 나타났다. 보육시설에서 신변안전을 위협받는 시간대는 저녁당직 시, 위협받을 수 있는 장소로 현관, 해결주체로 여성가족부를 높게 인식하였다. 특히 신변안전을 위해 반드시 필요한 시설로 비디오폰 설치가 가장 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 보육시설의 신변안전과 관련된 물리적 환경이 보완될 때 교사들의 정서적 안정감은 높아지며, 이에 따라 보육의 질도 높아질 것이라고 제안하고 있다.

This study investigated actual conditions of child-care facilities related to the child-care teacher's personal safety environment, and examined the policy solutions of this matter. For this purpose, we surveyed 130 teachers of private child-care institutions and found that most child-care facilities lack protective devices and safeguards ensuring personal safety. In addition, 8 child-care teachers who experienced safety threat from visitors and outsiders in past one year involved depth interview. It was also found that, in the facilities, the most threatening time slot is during the night duty, the most threatening place is the entrance hall, and the most effective body of settling problems is the Ministry of Gender Equality & Family. It was pointed out that the installation of videophones is urgently needed for the personal safety. On the basis of our survey results, we suggest that the teachers' emotional sense of stability is enhanced when the physical environment that is related to the personal safety of the child-care facilities is reinforced. The quality of child-care will be improved accordingly.
