본 연구는 친사회적 내용을 담고 있는 동화를 활용한 통합적 문학 활동을 고안, 실시하여 유아의 사회적 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 밝히는 것이다. 친사회적 동화를 12권 선정하여 5세반 유아 40명을 대상으로 하여 비교집단과 실험집단으로 나누어 12주 동안 동화 듣기, 소집단 토의, 동극 등의 활동을 실시하였다. 그 결과 친사회적 동화를 활용한 문학 활동이 유아의 사회적 능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.


The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of integrated literatural activities by using prosocial picture books which are socially aware on young children's socialization. These following questions are proposed: In relation to social competency, the extent of contribution of this integrated literatural activities provided with prosocial picture books to young children's individual attributes, essential social skills and peer relationship is investigated. The participants were 40 young children at the age of 5 from K Children's Institute in D metro-politian city. The participants' social abilities were assessed by using the instrument which was developed to illustrate the examination of social competency by Katz and McClellan (1997) and modified by Byen(2005), taking the real context of Korean early childhood education into consideration. The collected data were processed through analyzed by ANCOVA with 11.0 SPSS program. These experimented activities have an positive effect on young children's social skills. The essential social skills and the ability to keep good peer relationship as well as individual attributes which belong to the lower category of social competency were progressed with significance.
