진로발달은 어려서부터 시작되며 어릴 때의 적절한 진로교육이 평생 동안 영향을 미치게 된다. 만 5세경의 유아기는 진로의식발달에서 부모나 교사 등의 성인에게 의존하는 시기이며 특히 어머니의 영향을 많이 받게 된다. 본 연구에서는 어머니가 유아기 자녀의 진로교육에 대하여 어떻게 생각하며 어머니의 진로교육에 영향을 미치는 변인은 무엇인지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법은 설문지 조사로 만 5세 유아 어머니를 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구결과 어머니는 유아기 자녀의 진로교육에 관심을 가지며 진로교육이 필요하다고 보았으며, 유아의 진로교육에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 어머니의 학력, 어머니의 취업여부 보다는 어머니의 진로교육의 필요성, 진로교육관 등인 것으로 나타났다.
Career development starts from an early age. Appropriate career education has a lifelong influence in a child’s life. 5 year old child rely on parents, teachers, and especially mothers when developing career awareness. In this study, we examined mothers' attitudes and behaviors of career education for young children and the variables that affect the mother’s attitudes and behaviors. Questionnaire survey research method was used for this study. 610 copies were distributed to mothers of children aged 5. 519 copies with replies were collected and processed for statistics. The study showed that the mother’s attitudes and educational practices for career education were above midpoint and they were interested in the career education. The finding also showed that the mother’s acknowledgement of the necessity of career education and career educational values affects the attitudes and behaviors of career education more than the education of a mother and mother’s career.
