최근 국내에서는 지방자치단체들이 지역개발과 지역경제 활성화를 위하여 국제적인 스포츠 및 문화행사 등을 중심으로 하는 메가이벤트(mega-events)를 경쟁적으로 추진하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 2011 대구세계육상선수권대회를 관람 하고자 하는 지역민들의 관람동기, 관람태도, 참여의사 및 지역애착심 간의 영향관계를 검증하여 이들의 메가이벤트에 관한 참여 의사를 예측하고자 하였다. 설문조사는 예비조사를 거쳐 2011 대구세계육상선수권대회가 개최되기 한 달 전 대구 지역민들이 가장 많이 이용하는 쇼핑몰에서 실시되었으며 총 420부의 설문이 배포되어 불성실하게 응답한 14부를 제외한 380부가 최종 분석되었다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역민의 메가이벤트 관람동기 중 오락성이 관람태도에 가장 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이어서 특별할인, 유명인사, 가족애 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 사교성은 관람태도와 영향관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관람태도는 참여의사에 정의 영향을 나타내는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 지역애착심은 관람태도간의 조절변수로써의 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 관람동기 중 가족애는 지역애착심과 대립조절효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 사교성은 지역애착심과의 상호작용에서 완충조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과가 의미하는 이론적, 실무적 시사점 및 한계점을 논의 하였다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationships between local residents’ spectator motivations, attitude and participation intention in mega event, and the moderating effect of local attachment between spectator motivations and local residents’ attitude toward mega event through hierarchical regression analysis. Prior to the main study, the pretest was undertaken against 69 adults who are residents in Daegu. It allows to identify validity and reliability of measures adopted by this study. The survey was undertaken from 27st of July to 4th of August, 2011 against people who lives in Daegu. Excluding missing data, 380 usable date were used for analysis. Results of this study are as follows: first, it is found that there are the significant causal relationships between antecedents (enjoyment, special discount, fantom, friendship, familiness) and the consequence (local residents’ attitude toward mega event); second, it is identified that local residents’ attitude toward mega event has a positive effect on participation intention; and third, local attachment shows the buffering moderating effect between socialism and local residents’ attitude toward mega event, as well as it is found that there is an antagonistic moderating effect of local attachment on the causal relationship between familiness and ocal residents’ attitude toward mega event. The theoretical and practical implications, and the limitations are discussed.
