문화콘텐츠 산업 중에서 우리가 현재 세계적 경쟁력을 갖고 있는 분야가 바로 온라인 게임이다. 온라인 게임은 바야흐로 새로운 산업으로서의 지위를 다지고 있고, 그 성장잠재성은 더욱 크다. 그러나 발전일로에 있는 게임 산업에도 여러 가지 제도적 준비가 필요하다는 사실도 나타나기 시작하였는 바, 대표적인 것이 게임관련 분쟁이다. 게임관련 분쟁이나 민원은 게임산업이 성장하고 게임 이용자가 더 많아질수록 증가하고 있으나 신속한 분쟁해결 체제는 미흡한 것이 현실이다. 따라서 본 연구는 게임관련 분쟁의 급증에 따른 게임산업에 대한 대국민 인식제고 및 건전 게임문화 활성화를 위한 실질적인 게임분쟁 해소창구가 어떤 모습이어야 할지를 검토해보고자 한다.
