이 연구의 목적은 영화를 활용하여 한국의 언어와 문화를 효과적으로 교육하는 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 교육에 적절한 영화를 선정할 필요성이 있음을 보이고, 선정 기준을 범주별로 체계화하였다. 영화 내용의 ‘흥미성, 용이성, 보편성, 실재성’의 선정 원리와, 영화를 활용한 교육이 갖는 언어와 문화적인 측면에서 세부적인 선정 기준을 구체적으로 제시하였다. 이와 같은 원리와 기준을 1990년대 이후에 개봉된 영화에 적용하여 최종적으로 교육용 영화 29편을 선정하였다. 또한 수업 목표에 따른 언어․문화 교육의 모형을 제안하고, 선정된 영화 가운데 하나를 선택하여 실제 문화 수업에 적용한 예를 보였다. 실제 문화 수업에서는 중급 이상의 학습자들이 한국 문화를 상대적으로 이해함을 목표로 하는 문화 비교 수업 방식의 예를 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest a teaching method through using of films in Korean Language & Korean Culture Education. For this, this study proposes the important of selecting educational films and examined an criterion in the former researches. Under educational purpose, this study makes some suggestion of 4 principals; interests, easy, general and real and 6 criterions by 3 teaching goals; language, culture and language & culture. According to these principles and in taking, this study shows a selection of educational film list with 29 movies. The communication ability is related to linguistic and culture elements in the realistic communication situation. For helping improve the communication ability, a class model applied culture-oriented teaching model is shown. Because the content of class is based on Korean funeral Culture, a movie, ‘funeral festival’ is used to promote to comprehending Korean Language & Culture. It is expected Korean learners can easily understand Korean funeral culture by watching this movie, and fulfil the cultural performance in appropriate communication scene.
