This paper consider the Ontological status of Works of Painting and the definition of painting as an Art with the Concept of Style in Richard Wollheim's theory of painting. To account of pictorial style, we consider the ontological status of pictorial art. we will consider the ontological status of all kinds of Works of Art, since we appreciate the status of pictorial more correctly comparing with other kinds of Arts. 'What sort of thing are they?', is essentially a logical problem. A piece of music or a novel are Types. Correlative to the term 'type' is the term 'token'. On the other hand, Paintings are particulars. There are two different conception of style. general style and individual style. This paper's argumentation mainly focuses on the individual style. And the characteristics associated with individual style is connected with the ontological status of art, or paintings of an painters.
