창의성의 시각에서 반 고흐의 삶의 모델은 일부 천재나 예술가만의 독창성만이 아니다. 보편적으로 독창성을 요구받는 창조자들이 공통적으로 겪는 문제를 대변하는 전형적 모델로서 새롭게 이해할 수 있다. 독창성을 강요받는 이 시대에 반 고흐가 겪은 시대적 몰이해와 차가운 냉대의 고통은 창조자들이 직면하는 독창성의 양가성을 포착하는 점에서 중요하다. 이 연구는 사회의 에피스테메에 가려진 반 고흐의 열정이 사회와의 불협화음이나 가치갈등에서 어떠한 사회적 장벽의 어려움에 놓여 있고, 어떠한 맥락에서 광기로 변형되는가. 그리고 창조의 이중진자운동 즉 ‘탁월성과 무능력’이라는 극단의 내적갈등을 지속적으로 겪는 반 고흐의 창조과정은 내러티브 연구로서 형상화하였다. 특히 창조과정에서 극단의 이중진자의 활동은 사회의 다중처벌이 ‘진정성의 증명’으로 내몰아가는 광기로 변형되는 맥락의 이해에 주목하게 한다. 이 연구는 창조자들의 독창성이 사회적 통념과 가치충돌할 때 파생하는 여러 마찰로부터 빚어지는 현상을 교육적으로, 사회문화적으로 어떻게 이해하고 배려해야 하는가라는 문제이다. 즉 반 고흐의 문제는 창조성을 요구받는 창조자들이 실존적으로 어떠한 맥락에 서 있는가를 포착하는 것이 중요하며, 이를 창조성 교육의 새로운 지평으로 드러내었다. 창조성 교육의 새로운 지평은 창조자들이 겪는 실존적 맥락의 숨겨진 지평을 드러내는 동시에 똘레랑스와 코뮤니타스의 수용하고 고무하는 소통세계를 형성하는 것임을 규명하였다.


From the viewpoint of creativity, the model of Van Gogh’s life can be newly understood not only as the originality of some geniuses or artists but also as the typical model that speaks for the problems commonly felt by creators to whom the originality is universally demanded. In this time when the originality is demanded, the lack of understanding and pain of cold treatment from which Van Gogh suffered are important in grasping the aspect of ambivalence of the originality that creators may generally encounter. In this study, I will disclose as a narrative study that the passion of Van Gogh hidden by the episteme of society has been lain in what social barrier difficulties in the midst of discord or value conflict with the society and transformed into insanity in what context and the successive process of extreme inner trouble of double pendulum of creation which is ‘excellency and inability’. In particular, the extreme activity of double pendulum in the process of creation makes us to pay attention to the understanding of contexts which are transformed into insanity driving to ‘proof of sincerity’ as a social multiple punishment. This is a problem that how we may understand and consider educationally and socio-culturally the phenomena caused by the various kinds of conflicts that are derived when creators’ originality collides with social common notions in the aspect of value. In other words, the problem of insanity experienced by Van Gogh is important in that it should grasp in what context the creators asked for creativity stand existentially and I will show it as a new horizon of creativity education. This study has examined that the new horizon of creativity education discloses the hidden horizon of the existential contexts experienced by creators and also makes the communicational atmosphere of tolerance and communitas.
