한 편의 영화는 하나의 현실적 세계이다. 다시 말해, 한 편의 영화는 어떤 방식으로든 ‘실감나는’ 현실을 제공하고자 한다. 영화가 매우 진지하게 현실을 다루기 때문에 철학이 그것에 관심을 갖는 것이다. ‘영화텍스트와 철학적 글쓰기’를 논하고자 하는 것도 이런 맥락에서 이해할 수 있다. 다른 한편, ‘필로소피아’로서 철학이 앎과 깨달음을 향한 끊임없는 탐구 지향성을 본질로 한다는 것은 곧 ‘영화텍스트와 철학적 글쓰기’가 어떤 특성을 띌 것이라는 것을 일러준다. 이에 영화에 관한 애지자의 글쓰기는, 영화 관람 후 느낌을 기술하는 감상문 쓰기나 작품의 예술적 가치를 평가함을 주된 목적으로 하는 영화평론과도 구분될 것임을 알 수 있다. 여기서 영화텍스트라 함은 다분히 롤랑 바르트 적인 텍스트의 개념을 전제하는 것이다. 즉 고정된 의미로 환원될 수 없는 의미들의 짜임이자 의미 생산이 가능한 영역으로서 텍스트를 일컫는다. 이상을 전제로 본 논문은 영화를 텍스트로 삼은 글쓰기의 방식을 7가지 실례들로 나누어 비교 분석한다. 분석의 결과 － 이상적이라는 의미에서가 아니라 － 영화에 대해서 그리고 영화와 함께 글을 쓰는 행위의 철학적 의미라는 점에서 ‘씨네-에세이’와 ‘비인용적 글쓰기’를 실천 모델로서 제시한다. 이와 함께, 본고는 이 모든 작업이 영화 같은 이른바 대중문화를 대하는 철학의 진지성과 성실성을 바탕으로 하고 있다는 것을 상기한다. 그래야만 ‘철학적 글쓰기’가 ‘기술적 글쓰기’에 머물지 않을 수 있기 때문이다.
A film is a 'real world'. In other words, film artists in a certain way try to present a 'world very realistic' through film. Philosophy is very interested in cinema, because films are seriously connected with reality-problem. In this context, we can comprehend the theme of this paper 'Cine-text and philosophical writing'(the word 'cine-text' is coined for this thesis to signify 'film as a text'). Philosophy is essentially, as its etymology shows, a constant research for knowledge and wisdom. It means the philosophical writing on cine-text should be different from not only the description of impressions after the view of a film but also from the film review or movie criticism. The meaning of text here is very similar to the concept of text developed by Rolan Barthes. The concept of text implies above all the 'texture' of significances that cannot be reduced to a fixed meaning and the field in which making-sense is possible. Presupposing this theoretical background, this thesis analyzes seven types of philosophical writings on cine-text. As the result of comparative analysis, this paper presents 'cine-essay' and 'the way of writing without quotation of philosophical theories' not as ideal styles of writing but as 'philosophical praxis of writing on(and also 'with') films'. And this thesis wants to remind that philosophical writing is based on the seriousness and devotion of philosophy itself towards the popular culture like cinema. Unless we maintain this spirit, the philosophical writing will become merely technical skills of writing.
