The contemporary criminal justice system , what is called ' Restorative Justice System', lays great emphasis on the practical assistance for the victim's restoration. It focuses on the policing of service style to assist the crime victim's need rather than the policing of legalistic style which is related with crime control over suspects and defendants. So, investigating police officer should have a great concern for the service style which gives useful aids to victim. The improvement strategies on effective victim protection can be categorized into three methods ; legalistic method, cultural method and behavioral patterns method. It is essential for the investigating officer to use the behavioral patterns method to satisfy crime victims. However, even if the behavioral patterns method is adopted, other methods must be kept pace with the behavioral patterns method to protect the victim more effectively and faithfully. One of the most important means that can be used to improve the police officer's behavioral patterns toward victim is proactive training and education activities to cultivate the police officer's proper attitude. In the stage of preliminary investigation, police officers should be capable of making a reasonably speedy response to the crime scene. In addition, to respond safely and speedily to service calls, they have to get the crisis-intervention training in advance. Furthermore, they should not only demand victims to appear in a reasonable manner but also develop interview techniques in the area of voluntary investigation activity. Above all, those who investigate the sexual assault cases should make an effort to prevent the secondary victimization when they interview and come in contact with victims. Every investigating police officer should recognize the latest trend of the criminal justice which is taking a new turn toward the 'Restorative Justice', and have always the victim-oriented attitude to help victims who are in confusion or psychological crisis resulted from criminal attacks.
