The aim of this paper is to search the relevant determinants of fear of crime using Korean Youth Panel Survey data. Specifically, the effect of parental variables(such as parental attachment, communication with parents, parental supervision, conflict between parents, corporal punishment from parents) on adolescent fear of crime is investigated by means of multiple regression analysis method. Parental attachment and corporal punishment from parents are significantly related to fear of crime in school. The Lower attachment is and higher the corporal punishment is, the higher fear of crime is. Conflict with parent has indirect effect to adolescent fear of crime through the feeling of isolation. Parental supervision and communication with parents show significant relation with fear of crime. Gender difference is founded in parental influence on fear of crime. Attachment has significant effect to fear of crime in male youth, and supervison has significant effect to fear of crime in female youth.
