Objectives: This study was aimed to present the role of forensic nurses in the child sexual abuse response center, and to clarify the effectiveness of forensic nurses for evaluating the victim through practical cases of the child sexual abuse. Method:Three cases were reviewed. Case 1; A 10-year-old girl stated that she had been assaulted by her uncle 1 year ago. Case 2; A 12-year-old girl stated that an extracurricular male instructor had assaulted her several times during nearly 1 year period. Case 3; A 11-year-old girl stated that she had been assaulted by a neighboring old man 1 day ago. Results: In three cases, a forensic nurse collected forensic evidences and filed documentation of the findings after the appropriate physical examination and detailed interview of the victim. In addition, a forensic nurse contributed significant role in the prosecution process and conviction of sexual abuse cases in the court by providing a testimony as a forensic expert witness. Conclusion:Although the forensic nursing in Korea is not well introduced, the role of forensic nurses may be very important in the practical management of the victims in the child sexual abuse response center.
