The article explores the construction meaning of di-transitive and proposes that the meaning of di-transitive Construction is that the subject’s action made the possessive relationship’s transformation between indirect object and direct object caused by the subject’s action. After this, the author argues that the di-transitive construction involves causative event, movement event and transitive event. All these events formed an Idealized Cognitive Modal, which is used to express the transfer of the possessive relationship of NP3.
