The purpose of this study is to improve the student’s understanding of literary work through digital media technology in English literature class for students at the college of liberal arts. It is difficult to teach students the humanities such as literature with a conventional teaching method. It has caused students to drop a passionate interest and concern in English literature. In other words, in the traditional vertical teaching methods that a professor selects teaching materials just with text and gives the assignments, students just get credits. This study shows that English literature class using digital media technology was more effective for encouraging students to understand literary work and to have confidence and interest in English. They can improve their English skills with an exciting class than traditional teaching methods such as text analysis. The importance of this study is that using digital media technology is helpful for beginners in English literature class as a very effective teaching method which proves the effectiveness by experiment and survey last semester. Based on the above effective results, this study needs to be further developed and used for English literature class, as well as other various fields.
