소고에게 충효의 실천이란 평생 동안 일관되게 행해야 할 소명과도 같은 것이었다. 초지일관(初志一貫)의 자세로 정중(正中)하게 대처함으로써 세상의 영화부귀에 추호(秋毫)의 동요(動搖)가 없었던 학자가 바로 소고였다. 도심(道心)이란 천리(天理)를 깨달을 수 있는 바른 마음이다. 특히 하늘의 이치에서 어긋난 것을 바로잡으려는 마음은 하늘이 사람에게 부여한 본연의 천성이다. 지조 있는 선비로 살았던 소고는 명리(名利)와 같은 인욕(人慾)을 멀리 하는 생활에서 인격을 완성하였던 것이다. 지조와 절개를 지키기 위해서는 목숨도 아깝게 여기지 않는 것이 선비의 의리이다. 그렇기 때문에 선비는 가난한 삶의 불편을 감수하고서라도 의를 실천하기 때문에 곤궁한 생활에 크게 개의치 않는다. 그렇기 때문에 진정한 선비는 명리(名利)를 위해 다투거나 경쟁할 필요를 느끼지 않는다. 일찍이 소고는 <등한강루(登漢江樓)>시를 지어 “산수(山水)의 장관(壯觀)을 가슴에 쌓아두니, 풍월은 한가함 많아 시문 품평에 소비하네.”라고 읊은 바 있다. 이처럼 소고는 자연과 인간, 그리고 시가 하나로 어우러진 자연합일(自然合一)의 경지를 지향한 선비였다. 대체로 환로(宦路)에의 부침(浮沈)이 심했던 선비들은 자연에서의 소탈한 삶을 희구하는 마음이 없지 않았다. 소고의 시에는 이처럼 소탈한 삶을 희구하는 마음을 표출하는 것으로 시상을 그치지 않았을 뿐만 아니라, 더 나아가 자연을 가까이하면 심안(心眼)이 열리게 되어 이 심안으로 세상을 바라볼 수 있음을 진솔하게 고백하고 있다. 고향으로 돌아간다는 것은 소고에게 있어 ‘귀전원(歸田園)’의 꿈을 실현하는 가슴 벅찬 일임을 미루어 짐작할 수 있다. ‘귀전원(歸田園)’을 꿈꾸는 그의 마음은 산수자연과 합일하며 살아가는 진유(眞儒)의 모습으로 형상화되어 있다.

This paper is an attempt to illustrate the thought configuration in the poetry of Sogo Park Seung Im. Sogo Park Seung Im was a high official of the mittle part of the Joseon Dynasty period. The aim of this study is to complement of the understanding of the mind of his poetry. The Chinese prose written by Sogo Park Seung Im was tried to realized in the Confucian ideology. He inclined to approach it from the Life's truths. Sogo Park Seung Im was highlighted Loyalty and filial piety. He was represented the humble life. According to him, the Confucian scholar's mind is associated with morality. Therefore, the poetry of Sogo Park Seung Im revealed the sincerity. The attitude of Sogo Park Seung Im of studies based on Wigizihak(爲己之學). He wrote a poem about nature and the mind.
