Wang Gun(왕건), king TaeJo of Koryo dynasty, beiieved deeply Buddhism. As well as he promoted Buddhism. He built many temples in every place of the country and incomed the Buddhist scriptures and the Buddhist image from foreign country. He held Buddhist priests in esteem. He thinked that he could carry out the unification of later three kingdoms thanks to help of Buddhist. Therefore after the unification, He built Gaetaesa in Yonsan(연산), Choongnam(충남). The king of Gongmin(공민) enshrined a portrait of king Taejo in this temple. Because the capital of Koryo dynasty was occupied by pirates of Honggun(홍건). When special event occurred, king of Gongmin practiced divination in Gaetaesa. Up to the king of Woo(우), Gaetaesa was destroied by Japanese pirates. The king of Woo sended general Choi Young made him repel Japanese pirates. In this battle, General Choi Young gained great victory. This victory was named Hongsandeechop(홍산대첩).
