본 연구는 자녀양육에 대한 연구자의 체험을 바탕으로 다양한 이야기를 통해 유아교육․보육전공자의 자녀양육체험을 심층적으로 이해하고자 하였다. 이에 만 2세 자녀를 둔 연구자를 포함하여 만 2세, 만 5세 두 자녀를 둔 어머니, 만 5세, 만 9세 두 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 2011년 11월부터 2012년 2월까지 총 4개월 간 자료 수집을 하였다. 자료 수집은 면담, 연구자의 저널, 참여자들과 주고받은 이메일과 전화를 기초로"현장 텍스트"(field texts)(Clandinin ＆ Connelly, 1994)를 구성하였다. 연구자는 자녀 양육체험을 통해 자연스럽게 도덕적으로 가르치는 엄마, 아이와 함께 하는 언어교육, 교사 선택에 대한 자부심, 전공자의 딜레마, 위험한 행동을 재치 있게 교육, 부부간의 대화나 양육법의 일치, 내 아이를 유아교육ㆍ보육기관에 보내는 이유 등을 발견 할 수 있었다. 이렇게 드러난 결과를 기초로 전공자로서 자녀를 양육한다는 의미는 전공자로서의 반성: 어제의 나를 반성, 전문성 있는 선생님에 대한 기대감: 행복한 선생님, 유아교육ㆍ보육전공자로 살아갈 엄마의 미래: 교육의 흔들리지 않는 바위라는 깨달음을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 본 연구를 통해서 연구 참여자 서로에게는 정보 공유와 동료교수(peer teaching)의 기회를 가지게 되었고 유아교육․보육전문가로서 더욱 성장하는 기회가 되었다.
This study aims to understand child-rearing experiences of early childhood education and childcare majors in depth through various stories based on the researcher’s experiences on child rearing. Thus, data collection had been done for 4 months in total from November 2011 to February 2012, including a researcher with a child at the age of 2, a mother with two children for one at the age of 2 and the other at the age of 5, and a mother with two children for one at the age of 5 and the other at the age of 9. For the data collection, field texts (Clandinin & Connelly, 1994) were organized on the basis of interviews, journals of researchers and e-mails and phone calls which had been exchanged with participants. The researcher could find out a mother who taught naturally and ethically through her child-rearing experience, language education together with children, pride of selection for a teacher, dilemma of a person majoring in the field, education for dangerous action in a witty manner, consistency of conversations or upbringing methods between a couple, and reasons that children are sent to the early childhood education and childcare institution among others. Based on the results which has been revealed as such, the meanings of child-rearing as a person majoring in the field were learned, including the reflection as a person majoring in the field: reflecting oneself in the past, expectations for teachers with expertise: happy teachers, and the future of a mother who will live as a person majoring in the early childhood education and childcare majors : a rock of education not to be shaken. Through this study, there has been an opportunity for participants to share information and do peer teaching, and develop into experts in early childhood education and childcare.
