본 연구는 인터넷 정치정보와 정보 이용자에 대한 획일적 인식에 대해 문제를 제기한다. 인터넷 사용이 보편화되고 인터넷 정보제공 방식이 다양화됨에 따라 정치적 관심자만이 인터넷 정치정보를 이용하는 것이 아니라 정치적 관심이 적은 사람도 우연히 정보를 접하는 경우가 많다는 것을 주장하고자 한다. 이를 위해 인터넷 정치정보를 선택적 정보와 우연한 정보로 구분하고 인터넷 정치정보 이용자의 정보 이용 행태, 정치적 관심의 정도 그리고 정치참여를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 인터넷 정치정보 이용자의 대부분이 우연한 정보를 이용하고 있으며 이들의 정치적 관심이 다양하게 구성되어 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 인터넷 정치정보의 연구범위를 확대하여 우연한 정보에 대해 보다 많은 연구를 할 필요가 있음을 제시한다.
This study raised a question over standardized awareness toward internet political information and information users. Nowadays internet use becomes more common and internet information provision methods are diversified. So this study attempts to assert not only people with strong political interest but less-interested use internet political information by chance. For this, this study classified internet political information into selective and accidental information first. Then measured the degree of the users’ political interest and political participation. Based on the research, this study confirmed that almost internet information user access to political information accidentally and internet their political interest are diversely composed.
