This paper intends to study the challenge of The Da Vinci Code in an age of postmodernism and consider the way to cope with this challenge. Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code reveals not only the nature of postmodernism but also the current issues. The salient traits of postmodernism are "the accentuation of pluralism" and "the return of the oppressed" that we confirm in the novel of Dan Brown. On the surface of this novel appears "emphasis on the popularity" or "encounter of high culture and low culture" which also are characteristics of the postmodern times. The important themes of this novel are anti-Christianity and feminism. These elements are suppressed in the main stream of western civilization. Even if The Da Vinci Code is a fiction(contrary to the claim of Dan Brown, the novel is not based on the fact), it contains some persistent contents for our age. We must accept the positive elements of this challenge. We stressed three points in our paper. First, christians should try to find a means to improve the level of culture with the participation of the general public. Secondly, To respect the other does not mean to accept the thought of the other as truth. We should respect the other even though we esteem that his thought is not true. Finally, christians should accept frankly that they did not give legitimate position into the women. We have to reconsider the biblical principles on the position of women in the church.
