A Study on the Peaceful Unification of Donghak's Ideology on the Korean Peninsula

Currently the Korean peninsula is being reminded as the symbol of conflict in our world. It is a despairing place in which the ideological tension of the Cold War still exists. Even after the starting of the Lee Myung-Bak government, the relationship between South and North Korea has been growing worse. This situation on the Koran peninsula makes our future pessimistic. Can we depend on our destiny and future by political decision making any more? Do we have a different choice or way any more? What shall we do in this situation? This study is an answer concerning these questions. In this study, firstly I will search for an ideology for peaceful unification on the Korean peninsula. Specificalsly I hope to find it through the teachings and lessons of Donghak. Because I guess that Donghak's thought can solve the difficult problems, that is, the third way for a peaceful unification on the Korean Peninsula. For example, Bulyongiyon(不然其然), Muwi-ihwa(無爲而化), Chohwajaeng(造化定), Sicheonju(侍天主), Dong-gwi-il-che(同歸一體), Gae-byeok(後天開闢), the thoughts of Donghak head mostly toward peace. Because the society of Donghak national reunification's principles and basic orientation for national reunification is first, spiritual innovation, second, self-reliance and neutrality, and third, peace and democracy, lastly liberty and equality. Finally I will try to show that Donghak's thought is an appropriate ideology for the unification of the Korean Peninsula.
