This study aims at categorizing and describing pragmatic information in synonyms dictionary for Korean language learners. Most of learners of second language have difficulty in using synonyms. Thus they consult a dictionary to distinguish synonyms. But at present, synonym dictionary doesn't deal with pragmatic information even though it is as important as syntactic and semantic information. So this thesis is focused on pragmatic information in synonym dictionary. This study regards pragmatic information as a kind of event from perspective of vocabulary use and classifies pragmatic information depending on 5W1H. And this study gives examples of each synonyms and dictionary models. According to this model, description of pragmatic information is not limited to specific microstructure. That is, pragmatic information can be represented in overall descriptions in synonym dictionary, for example, mark(#), definition,exemplification, usage, and usage box, etc.
