본 연구는 교과서의 외적 체제 및 편집디자인 관련의 기존 연구 사례들과 이론들을 고찰하는 가운데 현행 교과서의 비교 분석을 통해 우리나라 교과서의 외적 체제 및 편집디자인의 문제점과 시사점들을 도출하였다. 그리고 여기서 도출된 연구 결과를 통해 우리나라 교과서의 외적 체제 및 편집디자인의 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 우리나라 교과서도 선진 교과서의 장점과 특성 등을 우리 것에 잘 적용시켜야 할 것이다. 교과서의 외적 체제 및 편집디자인이 전체적으로 조화를 이루는 가운데 교과 내용과 형식을 인지하기 쉽게 구성하면서 ‘보기 좋고 읽기 좋은 교과서’를 지향해야 할 것이다. 본 연구의 결과 및 제언을 토대로 우리나라 교과서의 외적 체제 및 편집디자인의 개선이 실제적으로 이루어지기를 고대한다. 아울러 본 연구가 앞으로 우리 교과서의 외적 체제 및 편집디자인의 새로운 방향을 제시하며, 질 높은 교과서 편집과 디자인에 실제적 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
This study was conducted with the aim to review the previous researches and theories relating to external system and editorial design of textbooks and compare the findings with the current textbooks to derive the issues and implications relating to external system and editorial design of textbooks. The author, based on the findings of this study, suggested the improvement directions for the external system and editorial design of textbooks. It is desired that Korean textbooks reflect the advantages and features of the advanced textbooks and are configured in such a way as to facilitate the recognition of contents and forms while the balance between external system and editorial design is well maintained as a whole, aiming at ‘good-looking and easy-to-read textbook’. The author expect that the findings and suggestions would contribute to the improvement of the external system and editorial design of the textbooks of Korea through serving to suggest new directions for the external system and editorial design of the textbooks to make quality textbooks.
