We conducted a research concerning the vascular flora and vegetation distribution status of coastal sand dune in Ganmaedo from August to September 2011. As a result, flora was classified into 58 families, 124 species, 1 subspecies, 17 varieties, 1 forma, summing up to 143 taxa. Among these, the naturalized plant was distributed into families, 19 species, and the sand dune plant was distributed into 12 families, 21 species and 1 variety. The vegetation of Coastal dune was classified into 8 communities; Vitex rotundifol.a-lmperata cyperata var. koenigii community, Carex pumila community, Carex kobomugi community, Vitex rotundifolia community, Ischaemum anthephoroides community, Zoysia macrostachya community, lmperata cyperata var. koenigii community and Calystegia soldanella community. Vitex rotundifolia community and lmperata cyperata var. The koenigii community was wildly distributed among all communities, while the Pinus thunbergii community was concentrated mostly in hinterland. Based on the Urbanization index, human disturbances appeared to be 5.9%. In conclusion the study area will require management and monitoring of the naturalized plant since neutralized index occupied a considerable amount about above 3 degrees. In the case of islands, more over practical management will be needed to limit the expansion of naturalized plant.
