본 연구는 발달장애인 부모를 대상으로 자녀에 대한 양육부담과 장애자녀에 대한 긍정성 인식과의 관계에서 사회참여의 조절효과를 살펴보고자 했다. 이를 위해 발달장애인을 양육하는 가족 190명을 대상으로 조사하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 양육부담은 발달장애 자녀의 긍정성 인식에 부적 영향을 미치고 있었고, 사회참여는 자녀의 긍정성 인식에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았지만 양육부담과 상호작용을 통해 자녀의 긍정성 인식에 미치는 부정적 영향을 완충하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 발달장애인 부모에 대한 사회복지적 지원 방안을 논의하였다.
This research purports to examine the moderating effects of social participation in the relationship of positive perceptions and parenting burdens in parents of children with developmental disabilities. As the research method, 190 parents of children with developmental disabilities were surveyed, and a structural equation was used for analysis. The research findings showed that the parenting burdens on parents of children with developmental disabilities had a negative influence on positive perceptions about their children, and the parent's social participation didn't have a direct influence on positive perceptions about their children. However, the parent's social participation was proven to be an important moderator between parenting burdens and positive perceptions about their children. As a result, this research has implied the necessity for social work practices to promote social participation in parents of children with developmental disabilities.
