Since the reform and openness of China, the global position of China has been promoted and the amity between Korea and China finally came true in 1992. Since then, academic and cultural exchange between the two countries has expanded quantitatively as well as qualitatively. For all that, the lack of fundamental understanding of Chinese educational system together with the weakness inherent in the report system of the foreign doctorate has caused the mass production of false doctors, and this problem will continue if appropriate measures should not be applied to that. Considering the increasingly close ties between Korea and China and the increasing number of the doctoral degree holders, the comprehensive research of the educational system and academic degrees of China should be performed from the national dimension. This study purports to give the foundation for the verification system and rational report procedure for master's and doctor's degrees issued in China through the profound analysis of the system of education and academic degrees in China and problems in the report system of Korea Research Foundation.

중국의 개혁 개방 이래 중국의 국제적 위상이 급성장함에 따라 1992년 한중 수교가 이루어진 뒤부터는 중국과의 학술 및 학술교류는 날로 그 범위와 내용이 눈에 띄게 확대되고 있는 추세이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 중국의 교육제도와 학위 제도에 관한 근본적인 이해의 부족은 현행 외국박사학위 신고상의 허점들과 맞물려 여전히 부적절한 학위의 양산을 초래할 수 있는 위험에 노출되어 있는 것이 실정이다. 점점 긴밀해지는 한중 학술교류와 날로 늘어나고 있는 중국에서의 학위취득자 수를 감안할 때, 중국의 교육 및 학위제도에 대한 종합 연구는 국가적 차원에서 시급히 진행되어야 할 사업이 아닐 수 없는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 중국의 교육제도와 학위제도에 대한 심층 분석을 바탕으로 하여 현행 중국에서 취득한 석사 및 박사 학위의 신고 절차상의 문제점을 살펴보고, 나아가 이에 대한 적절한 검증시스템 구축과 합리적인 신고절차를 마련할 수 있는 기틀을 제공하도록 할 것이다.
